Hi everyone!

As we know, everyone wants their favorite food to eat. Sometimes we order takeouts, sometimes we cook ourselves. And as my lovely husband does, some people demand from their moms or wives.

One of the favorite breakfast foods of my hubby is “Poha”. He loves to eat it in the morning. In fact, I learned this poha recipe from my mother-in-law. So it’s obvious for him to adore this recipe. I have seen many videos of this recipe on the internet and even I tried one of them before my marriage. Trust me, the taste was not so good. No one in my family wanted to eat that stuff again. So I decided not to make it in my future. But my mother-in-law’s recipe is easy and tasty. We enjoy her recipe every time. I hope, you guys will like it too.

Thanks to you to read my story.

The Poha recipe is below:

Ingredients

2 cup/Poha (flattened rice)

2 tbsp/ fried peanuts(optional; heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil & fry raw peanuts for about 2 minutes on low heat)

7-8/ curry leaves

2 tbsp/lemon Juice

2 tbsp/sugar

1 tbsp/salt

1½ tbsp/cooking oil

Half tbsp/turmeric powder

Half cup/potatoes (diced)

2 tbsp/coriander leaves (chopped)

1 tbsp/green chili (finely chopped)

2 tbsp/Mustard seeds

Directions

1. Add water to poha in a bowl till it submerges completely, you can add more water if you need it. Then rinse it. Keep it submerged for half a minute till it softens. After half a minute drain all water. Next add, turmeric, a little salt, lemon, sugar, and coriander leaves. Mix all the spice with wet poha and leave it in the bowl. We will use it later.

2. Now heat up a pan on the stove and add the cooking oil, when it’s medium hot, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and stir the mixture for 1 minute.

3. Now add green chilies and potatoes to the pan and mix them well. Let them cook on low heat stirring in between until potatoes start to turn light brown. Don’t overcook!

4. Now add the soaked poha mixture and fried peanuts (Optional) into the prepared mixture. Mix it well, make sure there are no visible lumps in poha (Break down if any). Cook for only 1 minute and then switch off the gas, cover the pan and leave it for 2 mins so that poha absorbs all ingredients.

Your delicious poha is ready!
